From the small border town, Nogales, Arizona, Ashley Novela is an aspiring classical guitarist. Her main background on guitar derives from Mexican Music, specifically in Mariachi. Her passion for guitar has brought Novela to form part of many musical groups including Mariachi Apache from the Nogales High School as well as Mariachi Juvenil Nuevo Sol and Mariachi Estrella Femenil in Nogales, Sonora, Mexico.
Ashley Novela is currently a music educator for K-8th music at Academy del Sol (Star Valley), and piano instructor at Tucson Parks and Recreation. She has taught music for extracurricular music clubs and inaugurated the first generation of two mariachis at Tucson Unified School District and Marana Unified School District.
Novela is currently excited to form part of the Fred Fox School of Music guitar studio under the tutelage of Tom Patterson, and is relishing the opportunity to work with her peers and professors while pursuing a BA in Guitar Performance.
