George Ramirez is an active performer and classical guitar instructor in the Phoenix and Tucson areas. Making his concert debut at the age of 16, he has had the opportunity to perform in venues such as the St.Stephens Cathedral (Vienna), Munich Cathedral, Mannes College and the Riverside Cathedral of New York amongst others.
Throughout his musical and scholastic endeavors, George has been the recipient of many prizes and grants including: PepsiCo Scholarship Foundation, Target Scholarships, Hispanic Scholarship Fund, University of Arizona Honors Research Grant, Medici Circle Grant, as well as top prizes for The William Wolf Guitar Competition and Thomas Schaffer Competition. George’s primary teachers have been Chuck Hulihan, Hu Bin, and Tomas Patterson. Additionally having received tutelage from Marco Tamayo via, the Mozarteum Summer Academy.
