Tucson Guitar Society's Virtual Series: Stringing our Community Together
In May, the TGS launched "Stringing our Community Together," a concert series designed to bring classical guitar to your living room. New concerts were streamed on YouTube every Sunday at 6:00 pm (PST) through May and June. Students of the Bolton Guitar Studies program participated in collaboration with members from our community. V International Festival of Classical Guitar: University Sergio Arboleda (Colombia)
With one of our own students, Edwin Guevara, as artistic director of this virtual international endeavor, sister universities Sergio Arboleda (Bogota, Colombia), Conservatorio Superior de Musica del Liceo de Barcelona (Barcelona, Spain), and the University of Arizona put together an incredibly successful online guitar festival that accumulated over 20,000 views over two weeks. This virtual celebration of our beloved instrument featured conferences, lectures and several concerts, most of which highlighted our very own Bolton Guitar Studies members.
